Recently there was an article placed in several of the UK newspapers stating that Skinny Pigs are the "New Designer Pets"

While we appreciate all of the nice comments and emails we do not and will not be shipping to the UK. We do ship within the US and we are willing to drive up to 9 hours in any direction as long as our gas and delivery fees are paid.

Disturbingly to us, we also received an email from an individual in the UK offering to pay us double what we charge plus extra for the trouble of shipping because the UK demand for Skinny Pigs is exploding and they can make so much money!!!

Skinny Pigs are amazing. But they are NOT for everyone. Before getting an animal like a Skinny Pig you need to ask questions and learn as much as you can about them BEFORE trying to locate one. You can ask current owners or breeders for more information. Try to find reliable sources as some people would rather make quick $$$instead of telling you everything you could expect with a Skinny Pig.

They can have problems that require Vet care and it can often times get very costly. They also eat more than a normal guinea pig and dry skin requires lotion applications.

There are so many homeless guinea pigs who need forever homes. Before seeking out a Skinny Pig which will inevitably require people to mass produce them to meet your demand, please consider adoption first.

This demand is going to cause greedy inexperienced breeders to cut corners just to make money. Some will even go as far inbreeding so that's another reason for you to not rush into this fad. If you get a pig from a source who doesn't take the time and care with their animals you will have problems with them down the line.

All we are asking is that you please take the time and consideration to first educate yourself about the breed and their specific requirements before going on a search to fill the need to have one. These animals are special who need special forever homes.
